Dr. Burns grew up in Atascadero, California, just outside of beautiful San Luis Obispo, California, where she attended Cuesta College and majored in kinesiology and dance. She moved to Portland in 2013 to attend University of Western States, and graduated in 2016 as a Doctor of Chiropractic with a Master’s Degree in Sports Medicine and a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Biology. During the program, she had the opportunity to work with youth and adult athletes before, during, and after practices and games. Being on the sidelines gave her more opportunity to treat injuries in their most acute stages as well as manage long standing injuries and help athletes finish their season.
When she is not at the office, Dr. Burns likes to train in dance, aerial dance, and CrossFit. In 2016 she became a CrossFit Level 1 trainer, and further honed her skill for teaching and correcting lifting form. She believes that knowing how to lift properly is an important skill both in the gym and at home.
Most importantly, Dr. Burns likes to spend time at home with her boyfriend, Nick, and two cats, Moosers and Auri.
