Dr. Zach Long is a Board Certified Sports Specialist and received his Doctorate in Physical Therapy from East Carolina University where his studies focused on sports rehabilitation and advanced treatment of spinal dysfunctions. Prior to physical therapy school, he graduated with Highest Honors from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a degree in Exercise & Sports Science.
Before becoming a physical therapist, Zach worked as a strength & conditioning coach at both the high school and college levels, primarily focusing on the sports of football. Zach continues to be involved in the Strength & Conditioning community by coaching and by writing multiple articles for the CrossFit Journal and his own website www.TheBarbellPhysio.com.
Zach also consults for professional and collegiate sports teams as part of Owens Recovery Science, teaching on utilizing blood flow restriction rehab principles clinically.
